Design

Frame

The frame is metallic and consists of oval shaped full rims in the case of the TB* s. The TB* rims unscrew to allow for re-lensing with other strengths.

Arms

The arms are spring hinged, which allow for size adjustment. The ear section is covered in a plastic sleeve.

Nose-Pads

The plastic TB* nose-pads slide onto a metal support and easy swivel into position when worn. The pads are detachable for replacement with an alternative. The plastic TU* pads are fixed to the support by screws.

Tube

The tubes are metallic and have an elliptical cross-section. The TB* range have pocket clips so they can be permanently attached to a jacket or trouser pocket. The tube parts are a friction fit with plastic sleeves inside each part to protect the frame.

Optics and Reglaze

Lenses

The lenses are plastic with a raised region around the edge so as to fit securely in the frame rim.

Strengths

The TB* strengths available as ready-made lenses are +1.0, +1.5, +2.0, +2.5, +3.0 and +3.50. The lens dioptres of the TU* glasses are +1.0, +1.5, +2.0, +2.5 and +3.0.

Lens Replacement

Prescription

We can reglaze the TB* type glasses with prescription reading lenses and these are available here. The TU* glasses are not reglazable.

Different Strength Each Eye

If you require reading glasses where different strength correction is needed for each of your eyes, then we can provide the lens combinations. These glasses are shown here.
